In my previous posts, I mentioned that the Lord has been knocking on the door of my heart about writing that long overdue Forgiveness Letter.
Yesterday, I shared how my husband responded to the Lord’s nudging and how blessed I am for his response.
The Proposal
He planned to walk around the neighborhood and take the children to the playground.
Did you notice what’s missing in this picture?
Let’s review:
My husband. Kids. Playground.
He wouldn’t leave ME out of the equation. 🤔
So, looking at him in the eye, I held my breath and waited in anticipation for what else he had to say.
He told me to take this time to do whatever I want to do.
Hmmm… That’s a great idea — I thought to myself.
Then, he said I can even start drafting my Forgiveness Letter if I want to. 😱
Now, that’s the catch!
Surprise, Mama Sel!
I never saw that one coming.
The Delay
Like I said before, the Lord has been impressing this issue in my heart for some time now.
But with this thing called “life” and everything else happening in it, I keep forgetting to take the first step and act on this concern.
Plus with the busyness at home, alone time for me is rare.
More often than not, the only alone time I get is when the kids just fell asleep.
By then, I’m already tired and exhausted that I wanted to pamper myself even for a short while by watching a movie.
Life at home is fast and crazy (in a good way).
But thanks to my loving, understanding, and ever supportive husband, I can now take a step closer to the healing that the Lord wanted for me.
More importantly, I thank the Lord for touching my husband’s heart and for using him to actively take part in my healing journey.
My husband has approached this situation very calmly. He is patient and understanding towards me.
Despite the poor decision I made and the shameful things that happened in my past, his love didn’t waver.
He still loves me as much…
Even more each day.
Faithful Love
Now, I know that a love like that is only possible because of my Jesus.
My Jesus…
Who wept with me and mourned with me.
Who laughed with me and hugged me.
Whose love never gives up and never runs out on me.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17
The progress I’m making on this specific area of my healing journey is only possible because of God’s faithful love.
To me, each step I take — no matter how small — is part of the Lord’s victory.
Victories don’t always need to be extravagant wins.
Each baby step is progress made.
And progress is what I aim for.
Yes…
Progress, not perfection.
He has remembered his promise to love and be faithful to Israel. The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God. Psalms 98:3 NLT
Thank You, Jesus!
Thank You, Lord, for giving me a good man as a husband. Thank You for this man who takes interest in others, too, and desires my healing as much as I do.
Thank You for using him to love me on my every waking day here on earth. Truly, every good and perfect gift is from You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
