And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19
I praise and thank the Lord for His goodness and grace!
Our son is a preschooler but he’s not in school yet.
He has a speech delay.
Before, I thought maybe it’s because he’s not as exposed to other people since my husband works from home.
I used to stay somewhere else on weekdays for work.
My son is the only kid in the house so there’s really no one to talk with but the characters in the movies he used to watch.
He also likes talking to himself in front of the mirror.
Now that he’s older, he can utter some common expressions although not as clearly. Also, he still can’t express himself verbally.
Some people have expressed their concern towards our son’s speech delay.
We’ve been advised to see a developmental pediatrician (a.k.a. dev ped) so we’d know if further action would be necessary.
Earlier this year, my husband and I were planning on attending an orientation of one of the homeschooling providers in the country.
In the registration form, we were asked about any delays or concerns that our child is currently going through.
We mentioned his condition.
The said provider referred us to a dev ped.
I was stunned when I contacted the doctor’s office and received the quote for the assessment!
It was almost 80% of my salary!
My husband and I opted to wait another year before considering our son’s schooling.
With his condition, it is most likely that we’d be asked — again — to have him assessed.
So, we did some budgeting and planning for the upcoming year.
After planning out the expenses each month for the first quarter, we were told that one of my husband’s cousins would give us some monetary gift.
We never expected anything, but we’re thankful for the present.
When we found out the gift amount, we were stunned!
My heart was glad and in awe of the Lord!
I hugged my husband and excitedly told him, “We can have our son checked! We can have him checked!”
My good and rich Father in heaven has provided for our needs through a relative.
Praise the Lord for He is good! He knows our needs even before we come asking.
Keeping my eye on the sky!
Thank You, Lord, for being patient with me. For teaching me to depend on you for our needs — daily and especially the BIG ones. Thank You for helping me reset my default mode to YOU instead of my mom. Please continue to deal with my heart and help me keep my eye on the sky — on You, my Jesus. On You and You alone.
